Disclosure Policy
Disclosure Policy for Product Reviews
The Federal Trade Commission requires that I disclose any relationship I have between a product or service provider when I write about a product or service.
Here are the guidelines I operate under at The reviewbase.com:-
* The reviews of products and services in this blog are mostly unpaid, that is I don’t accept any payments in return. On occasions I may accept an offer of a paid review of a product or service. Where this situation occurs the nature of the relationship between me and the advertiser will be fully disclosed.
* I usually pay for the products and services that we recommend. Should I be offerd a free product to review this will be disclosed.
* I do not claim that the experience and benefit I have received from using a product or service is typical and is dependant on many other factors that may influence other people’s experience and benefit from using the product or service.
* If I create a link to a product in a review, or anywhere else on my website, I get paid a commission if you purchase the product or service.
I believe these are good rules and practices for Internet Marketing. It’s important for you as a consumer to understand the relationship between a person reviewing the product or service and the product or service provider.
If you don’t see a disclosure policy as part of a review of a product or service, that reviewer may be violating the law or at the very least the Code of Ethics.
We reserve the right to change this disclosure policy from time to time.
